Hudson Bearings

Hudson Bearings is a leading manufacturer of high-quality, American-made ball transfers and solutions. While their products are well-regarded in the industry, their online presence needed an upgrade to better showcase their innovations and improve user experience. As the lead UX/UI designer, I was tasked with redesigning their website to make it more modern, user-friendly, and aligned with current web standards.

The Challenge

Hudson Bearings' previous website (hudsonbearings.com) was outdated, with a cluttered layout, difficult navigation, and lacked the modern functionality that customers expect from a B2B manufacturer’s site. The challenge was to design a new website that not only enhanced the visual appeal but also improved usability, streamlined product navigation, and made it easier for customers to find the information and products they needed.

Creative Strategy

The goal was to create a modern, clean, and functional website that provided a seamless user experience. We prioritized a mobile-first design approach to ensure accessibility on all devices, given the increasing amount of traffic from mobile users. Additionally, we wanted to enhance the product discovery process by making it easier for users to explore Hudson Bearings' wide range of solutions.

Key focuses included:

  • Simplified Navigation: Making it intuitive for users to search for products, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Responsive Design: Ensuring the site performs well across devices, from desktop to mobile.
  • Visual and Brand Consistency: Introducing a sleek, modern design that reflects Hudson Bearings' commitment to quality and innovation.

Execution

Using Webflow, I designed and developed the new Hudson Bearings website (hudson-turbo.webflow.io) from the ground up. Webflow’s flexibility allowed for a fully customizable design, making it possible to deliver a site that met the client’s unique needs while maintaining a polished, professional look.

  • Enhanced UX/UI: The new design features a clean layout with clear navigation paths, making it easy for users to find products, explore technical specifications, and access resources.
  • Mobile-First Design: The site was built with mobile responsiveness in mind, ensuring a seamless experience for users on smartphones and tablets.
  • Improved Product Pages: The product pages were restructured to offer detailed information, easy-to-read layouts, and improved filtering options, allowing customers to quickly find the right ball transfer solution.

Results

The redesigned Mean Joe Advertising website now serves as a powerful testament to our agency’s capabilities in web design and creative strategy. The unique, mobile-first design not only sets us apart from other agencies but also effectively communicates our brand’s identity and expertise to potential clients. The new site has received positive feedback for its user-friendly navigation, engaging design, and clear presentation of our services and portfolio.

The redesigned website has been a major improvement over the previous version, providing a vastly superior user experience. The clean and modern design has made the site more appealing to visitors, while the streamlined navigation and product pages have helped improve engagement and product discovery. Hudson Bearings now has a website that reflects their innovation and commitment to customer satisfaction, positioning them as a forward-thinking leader in the industry.

This redesign project illustrates the importance of modern UX/UI design in creating a functional, user-friendly website. By focusing on user experience and leveraging Webflow’s flexibility, I was able to transform Hudson Bearings' online presence, making it easier for customers to engage with the brand and explore their product offerings. As the lead UX/UI designer, I ensured the new site not only met the client's needs but also positioned Hudson Bearings as a cutting-edge, customer-first company.
